Dear Editor of Daily Trust, Dear Editor, In your Flash back in the Daily Trust of Friday, November 14, 2014 at Page concerning the photography of Dr. Okoi Arikpo , Member of House of Representatives, Lagos; you wrongly wrote that Dr. Okoi Arikpo (SAN) is from Uyo. It is pertinent to note that Uyo is in Akwa Ibom State. The truth of the matter is that Dr. Okoi Arikpo (SAN) was from Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State of Nigeria. In 1952, Okoi Arikpo was representing the then Obubra Division in the Eastern Regional House of Assembly ;and also one of the four Ministers chosen to represent Eastern Region in the then House of Representatives in Lagos (known then as the Central House of Legislature). It is also not correct when you wrote that from 1952-1955, Okoi Arikpo was a Minister without Port-folio. The correct position is that Okoi Arikpo between 1952-53 was the Minister for Lands, Survey and Local Development in the then Eastern Nigeria; and from 1953-54 he served as Federal Minister of Mines and Power .
