Dear FAMILY and FRIENDS, I would like to tell you about a special friend, Jay, who is an extraordinary man. We have been friends since 10th grade @ Glen Oaks High School. To save you the Math, thats over 42 years. Jay is also an indescribable fighter. The reason I am telling you about Jay is because he and Cindy need your prayer. I want to tell about the adversities that Jay and Cindy have endured over the last several years. Cindy has been Jays rock, his anchor If you will. She has been on this journey hand in hand with Jay and she has fought with Jay for his life. Alongside of Jay - relentlessly. Jay Creel, Cindy Creel, and their families need our support, our love but above all they need our prayer. Jay is battling renal failure, fluid in his lungs, a high (WBC) white blood cell count (12500 yesterday) from infection, the renal failure and other medical challenges as well. Jay is not a candidate for dialysis and the diuretics are not working to clear the fluid from his lungs. Hes been hospitalized for several months and transferred to other facilities. He is now @ the Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Bluebonnet. Some of you may remember the raffles that we held to help with the enormous medical bills when Jay became ill. Let me give you a little history for those that may not know just where this story began. Jay developed Spinal Meningitis which was missed and mis-diagnosed in the ER as normal back pain. Because of the time that had lapsed and was wasted; when the Doctors realized what Jays diagnosis was - it was too late. Jay was paralyzed permanently leaving him a quadriplegic. Jay has endured so much pain, surgeries and more infections over the years than can be counted. Hes been hospitalized in so many different hospitals between LA and TX that it is hard to remember where you are, hes been transferred from one hospital to the other and back. And this was the short, short version! My profile picture is of Jay and Cindy when they were dating. I could not tell you how grateful I would be for your thoughts and prayer.... For all of Jays friends; Cindy mentioned that it would be fine if you want to call and talk to Jay. Sorry, I cant remember the room # right now but Ill post it.
