Dear Friend, Even as Delhi suffers from traffic congestion, lack of basic utilities like water, sewage, good education in government run schools, you would be shocked to know that It has been revealed that not even a single LokSabha member from Delhi has used 100 per cent of the cumulative total from 2009 to 2013. All seven of these are Congress MPs and under Members of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund they had a total of Rs.93.75 crore at their disposal during 2009-2013 to carry out development works in their respective constituencies. However, these MPs have not utised around Rs 28 crore as yet. Here are some key facts for your consideration: - Ramesh Kumar, Congress MP from South Delhi constituency was allocated Rs.10.32 crore by the Union government, Kumar has managed to utilise only Rs.3.08 crore yet. - LokSabhaMP of Congress from East Delhi Sandeep Dikshit has managed to utilise only Rs.3.06 crore. He has been allottedRs.7.65 crore. LokSabha MP from Chandni Chowk and Union Minister for Telecommunication and Law Kapil Sibal have not utilised Rs 78 lakh out of a total of Rs13.24 crore under MPLAD funds. Congress MP from North-East Delhi Jai Prakash Agarwal has not utilised Rs 2.95 crore out of the Rs 18.28 crore that has been made available to him through MPLAD funds. Media Cell Head of the Congress party and MP from New Delhi constituency Ajay Maken has not been able to utilise atleast Rs 4 crore out of Rs.20.96 crore allotted to him Krishna Tirath - the LokSabha member who represents the North-West Delhi did not spent Rs 4.5 crore out of Rs.9.99 crorefom the MPLAD funds. It is time to ask questions from these MPs, why the failed to spend this amount which was allocated for people of Delhi.
