This is the reason why even though I still dont work for charleston pd I still pray for my brothers in blue because those guys are my brothers and are my family still they would have my back at any minute. My son and I were talking about this last night how dangerous this job really was and how much the family unit as a whole sacrifices every time dad or mom walks out and goes to work not knowing if that loved one is going to come home safe or not. This is a toll on the kids at home as well as the spouse at home to folks. So when your out and you see that cop car behind you in the drive thru remember him and by his meal not every restaurant pays there lunch bill. Show them there appreciated for what they do. Some day they may be handing you your small child back to you safely. I never dreamed it wouldve happened to me but it did. Ive been blessed by these great group of guys and I dont know what I would do if Id loose any one of them.
