Dear Friend and Colleague, KEEP CALM and RIDE ON This is the theme of the 3rd Anniversary Dr. Albert Varacallo Memorial Ride/Walk. This year’s event is approaching quickly. It will be held at the Edward V. Cherry Amphitheatre at the DuBois City Park on: Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 11 am to 3 pm Our event will be a little different from the previous two years. We will still have the walk around the park at 2 pm, but instead of a bicycle ride, we will be having a 3 hour spin-a-thon that starts at 11am. Spin bikes will be provided and reservations for those bikes will be on a first-come first-serve basis. You can register on the attached form, register online at myfitforthejourney or call 814/375-7856 Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned spin cyclist, come give it a try! You must be 13 years of age or older to participate. Please reserve a bike soon as spaces are limited! There are three sessions. The cost is $25/bike per session, but the rider can also get sponsors to donate on their behalf while they ride. A prize will be awarded to the person who raises the most money overall. Spinning is a great cardiovascular workout set to great music, and led by an instructor. If you would like to donate or be a sponsor for our event, please complete the attached sponsor/donor form. There is also the opportunity to purchase a balloon to release that day, raffle tickets for a new Star Trac Pro spin bike, t-shirts with a new design, and tank tops. To date, we have established medical scholarships at Penn State Hershey Medical School and Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and high school scholarships at DuBois Area High School and DuBois Area Catholic Schools.
