Dear Friends & Fans; NO PAY. NUDITY Day # 1 Arrived at 8AM. Met everyone, including Director, Asst.Dir., Wardrobe, Dir. of Photography (DP), Sound, crew and all tech crew, hair and make-up, etc.. Grabbed a little breakfast prepared for us. Read script of scenes, and lines. Since Nathan Lane is in every scene, and the star, and I am his Stand-in, I have to be prepared with Nathans characters lines, as they set all the lights, camera angles, sound, etc. to me. Than Nathan doesnt have to endure this tedious time consuming process. Thats what I get paid to do. I just arrived back home at around 7:30 pm. Left my apt. this morning at 6:30 AM to be on set by 8 AM in lower Manhattan. I am really exhausted, but it was a good first day. There was no AC on set because it can be heard during taping. So it was hot. All the actors were kind, dedicated and honestly gave their all. Most of the principal actors were prepared with their lines basically memorized. One scene took the entire day to shoot. 10 hours. When you are doing a film, most of the time is spent on angles, close-ups, blocking, sound, lighting, dialogue, retaping, make-up, hair, props, wardrobe, and many different technicalities..... The crew was also very kind, professional and worked diligently and consistently under a lot of stress. Spoke to Nathan Lane when I arrived, and also chatted with the writer/director, Boyd Gaines and Gabriel Byrne throughout the day. All the creative and technical talent were consummate dedicated professionals, which is a great blessing for me to watch and learn. I was told that some of the background actors were working for FREE. All they got was a free lunch and goodies on set all day. They did this just for experience and to be in the film. The scene takes place at the Actors Equity Audition Center on West 46th street, and every piece of furniture, lights, carpet, photos, artwork, etc... was re-created on this set to copy The Actors Equity lounge. For me, personally, I love the environment of extreme theatrical creativity and superb talent. So, even though I am a little tired from a long day on set, I am also exhilarated and gratified to be a small part of this wonderful creative process. Believe it or not, there are many actors that shoot films and commercials during the daytime, and then do a Broadway show in the evening. Now that is not easy, unless you are very young and have a lot of energy and stamina, and coffee!....... Now, its time for me to relax a little, watch a little TV maybe, with the pups, and go to sleep early, because tomorrow is a repeat of today, and I only slept 3 hours last night. Goodnight yall!
