Dear Friends, I am on Top Of The World today! This past Monday, in meeting with my oncologist, I found out that since they had failed to give credit for my radiation time, they had miscalculated my total number of chemo treatments and completion time. Instead of 8 treatments carrying me through mid-October, I only had 4 left, and now after this week - 3 remaining!!! I will be disconnected from my chemo pump for the last time on August 20th!!! I am absolutely ecstatic about this news! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I have all of you, my friends and family to thank - for holding my hand, and lifting me up in so many ways over this past 8 months! It has been a difficult, but rewarding and life changing & affirming journey. I owe the biggest debt of gratitude to my amazing wife Jennifer. I will be honest. It has not been an easy time for either of us. The effects of this disease will weigh on you - as individuals and as a couple. But, we have such a tremendous support system - both of us, and we know that we come out of this stronger - and the experience will have a profound and life long impact on us - for the better. In my mind, we are just now starting the fight - for others ahead and in memory of those that ran out of time in their fight. From the onset, Jennifer and I chose the path of joy. Rather than Why me?, F*ck Cancer, etc... we chose to smile. We did not want to give any power to this disease. Instead, we smiled in the face of it. We thanked God for our blessings. We saw past this disease to the reality that we are immensely blessed, surrounded by angels and trusted in God to answer our prayers every step of the way. And He has. To my fellow bug fighters / survivors - I consider you part of my extended family and you are in my prayers every day. Each and every one of you! Keep strong and stay the course! We are with you! There is still a path ahead, but it gets lighter by the day. I love you all. Sean #choosejoy #livestrong
