Dear Friends, I just found out that I made it into The Burlesque TOP 50 in the 21st Century Burlesque Magazine readers poll. I cant begin to tell you how very much this means to me, but know that I am deeply touched that Im still on your mind. This is my 4th year in the Top 10 and Im well aware that there are so many performers who deserve to be in the top 10, and even the top 50 that are not listed. Many of my burlesque heroes who have inspired me and who still challenge me are on that list, too. Some are not. I want to thank you for voting for me and keeping me on my toes. As a performer, an instructor and a producer, I promise to always do my best to bring you a great show and do my best to facilitate a wonderful, positive, and knowledgeable community. After taking a year off of BHOF to perform in The Australian Burlesque Festival and Perth International Burlesque Festival this year, I thought everyone would forget about me, but becoming a relevant international performer was worth the risk and I cherish the friendships I made on that tour. Adding me to your list and making it in the top 10 is sometimes what pushes me to work as hard as I do and stay relevant in the community that Im so in love with. Your faith in me gives me the energy and inspiration I need to stay as busy as I have been the past four years. Thank you to my family at home. Without their understanding, support and love, I couldnt do this. Thank you to my little burlesque family, The Jigglewatts in Austin, TX; my bigger one, The Austin Burlesque Alliance; all of my students who often teach me as much as I teach them; and my global burlesque family.
