Dear Friends, We came across a posting of a mixed Persian being abandoned on Saturday. According to the informer, there was a case of 6 cats being abandoned in the area recently. This could be one of them. Brandi was found crouching in a corner and refused any food and water. Her eyes were watery which could be an indication of a flu. We rescued her on Saturday night and brought her in to AMK Vet for a check on Sunday morning. She was found to be infested with furmites and was running a fever with a temperature of 40.3 degrees. We immediately got her hospitalised and on a drip to bring her temperature down. At this stage, it is suspected to be a viral infection and she will be monitored closely. In these past few months, our team has picked up too many abandoned and sick cats. The pedigree, old, blind, cancer, pregnant, dying, severe back injuries, paralysed and unsterilised cats. What is happening to our society? As Team Mira is made up of only a group of volunteers, we really appreciate the help we are getting in terms of donations for all our cases. Every case that we take on we start with zero funds but no matter what, we will treat the cats that require treatment. We are appealing for donations for Brandi.
