Dear Heavenly Father, We ask that you would go before us this - TopicsExpress

Dear Heavenly Father, We ask that you would go before us this weekend. We pray that it would be a time of relaxation and a time of quiet reflection on all that you have done for us. Lord, even when we are in hard and difficult places, your beauty surrounds us. We know that your Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, comforting us and ministering to us. May we take the time to hear your voice and feel your presence. May we find moments of solitude that help us reflect on all that we have to be thankful for, instead of focusing on all that we don’t have or all that we have lost. Father, as we start this month that begins the holiday season, many are already feeling a sense of dread and a feeling of sadness starting to rise up in them. Lord, the only thing that we truly have control of in this life is our thoughts and attitude…and we ask that you will help each of us to take the time when we arise each morning to do all that we can to help ourselves to stay in control of our thoughts and emotions…so we won’t be overtaken by them instead. Help us to start each morning with an attitude of gratitude and give you praise… if for no other reason than you are Holy and worthy to be praised. You see each hurt, you see each person in physical and emotional pain…you see each person who is struggling with their losses…each person who is struggling to survive financially…each person and family, that is dealing with loved ones who are in declining health…each family that is dealing with addictions and prodigals that have turned away from those they love and from you…you see the families dealing with special needs….and you see each person that is emotionally and physically exhausted and not knowing how they will make it through the day. You see our needs and you hear our cries and you are already working on a plan for each need. Help us to rest in your promises today. Lord, nature and each sunrise and sunset, declare that you are still in control and still on the throne…the darkness that surrounds us, only makes you shine brighter. Lord, light the fire in our hearts. Fan the flames that once burned bright and clear and remind us of when we first fell in love with you and help us to remember that life is hard but you are good and you are with us this day and each day to come and for all eternity. All you want is for us to believe, trust and do our best and you will do the rest… what we cannot do on our own, you will take care of and provide…faithfully. Thank you, for loving us with an everlasting love. Thank you, for calling us your own and for dying on the cross to set us free. May we walk in your freedom today. We love you Lord, and we give you all praise, glory and honor and thank you for our blessings. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
