Dear Luminous, There is no one who deserves the 52nd Sunday off - TopicsExpress

Dear Luminous, There is no one who deserves the 52nd Sunday off of the year more than you. You have served faithfully to see an amazing church planted in San Antonio, TX. It’s an honor to do this with you, and see all the lives changed. I’m excited for this next year. Sunday the 4th will be an amazing opportunity to pray and fast together with thousands of other Every Nation Churches around the globe. We will conclude this fast on January the 11th with our Vision Sunday where we will talk about the year 2015 and our word of the year “Risk”. This will be a huge service that day, and you will want to bring everyone you know. I cannot wait to enter this year together. Before we talk about next year, I do want to reflect on this year for a moment. We saw 200 people come through our doors on Launch Day September 7th. We had dozens of people respond to the gospel for the first time. We saw 5 community groups and 5 campus groups meet for weekly discipleship. Our average attendance was a 100 people on Sundays, which is exciting, knowing the average church in America is 80 people. We had 60 people volunteer in our church. We have a world class children’s ministry with people serving every other week so that kids would not be the forgotten people group in our church. We drank 32 gallons of coffee this year, which for a coffee lover excites me. We had 32 loaves of bread made by our people so that we could break bread before service and make our guests feel loved and welcomed. There were 1900 hands shaken or “high-fived” this year on Sundays. These are fun numbers, and if you did not know by now I love numbers. Each number has a story that is important to Jesus. In Acts 2 we read about the inception of the early church, in verse 41 we see that 3,000 souls were baptized and added to the church. I’m encouraged that we count not to boast on anything we have done, but to see what Jesus has done. Thank you Luminous Church for seeing Jesus clearly and obeying what you see. You are a people Built to Last on the rock, you have Loved Out Loud in word and deed, you have been a people that allow others to Belong before they believe, and you have shown me how to be in relationship with Jesus, because you shared what Jesus and You looks like. I love you! Praying for you! Can’t wait to see you in 2015! Sincerely, Pastor Ben
