Dear Melissa , Psalms 1:1,2 “Happy is the man that has not walked in the counsel of the wicked ones . And in the way of sinners has not stood . And in the seat of ridiculers has not sat. But his delight is in the law of Jehovah , and in his law he reads , in an undertone day and night” . Every day we experience Jehovah Gods delight when we study it our selves, no one can do it for us . Do we delight in Gods laws and read his word each day ? That’s God’s word, is the way of Jehovah talking to us . Do we take time each day to learn just a little bit ? The only way we can learn God’s laws, we need to study it our selves . Human governments require that their subjects learn and obey the laws of the land. It seems only reasonable, then, that Jehovah God should expect us to learn and obey the laws and principles that govern all Kingdom citizens. (Isa. 2:3; John 15:10; 1 John 5:3) Human laws are often flawed and may be unfair. In contrast, “the law of Jehovah is perfect.” (Ps. 19:7) Do we delight in God’s law and read his Word each day? (Ps. 1:1, 2) The only way we can learn God’s law is to study it for ourselves. Nobody else can do this for us. Kingdom citizens love God’s standards . To remain Kingdom citizens, we need not only to know God’s standards but also to love them. Many citizens of human governments say that they agree with the laws and standards of the country in which they live. However, when they find a requirement to be inconvenient and feel that nobody is looking, they break the law. Often, these people are “men pleasers.” (Col. 3:22) Kingdom citizens live by a higher standard. We gladly obey God’s laws, even when no other human is looking. Why? Because we love the Lawmaker.—Isa. 33:22; Read Luke 10:26,27” Now, look! a certain man versed in the Law rose up, to test him [Jesus] out, and said: “Teacher, by doing what shall I inherit everlasting life?” 26 He said to him: “What is written in the Law? How do you read?” 27 In answer he said: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole strength and with your whole mind,’ and, ‘your neighbor as yourself.’” 28 He said to him: “You answered correctly; ‘keep on doing this and you will get life” Jehovah is made happy. it is a pleasure, to him ,when we take time to listen to him and when we talk to him . As when Abraham his friend talked to him . What blessing to be called a Friend of Jehovah . Sincerely ,Lee
