Dear Men, and Women, Catcalling. Its a problem, and I do understand why. Women dont want to be objectified, harassed, or degraded while walking along the street. Guys can be pigs, trust me, I am one. However, these dudes whistling, and creeping on women were raised that way never thinking its a problem. A beep of a car horn cant exactly be flattering, but as Jerry Seinfeld said, its really all a lot of men have. But if you went up to my father of 59 years of age and told him its wrong, he wouldnt really see why. You can fight them through videos, and letters, and shaming all you want, but it kind of comes down to you cant teach an old dog new tricks mentality. Does that make it okay? God no. And Im not even saying they cant change, but instead of focusing all your efforts on the 40 and 50 year old men, many of which arent watching these catcalling videos, there should be more of an effort on our younger generations of fellas. Teaching them why this isnt okay, and teaching them better ways to flatter a woman without using a 2 syllable Daaaaammmmnnnnnn We can raise young men to be gentlemen. Chivalry isnt dead, it just got swiped left. Love, Matt berry
