Dear Mr Goh, Thank you for highlighting my situation in - TopicsExpress

Dear Mr Goh, Thank you for highlighting my situation in Transitioning’s blog post. I’m very grateful. I appreciate that there are many fellow Singaporeans who care and are concerned for my well being. I am still trying hard to manage all my predicaments. HDB has acted after you put up my situation and will let me know the outcome of my BTO application in June. As for the HDB loan, they can only let me know if I am eligible for it in August. Thank you once again for your unconditional care for not just me but also countless others. I would also hereby like to clarify a few points about my predicament. Firstly, I have been an undischarged bankrupt for the past 13 years without any reprieve or aid from SECDC. (who is quick to reject rather than approve.) The petitioner for my bankruptcy was done by a local bank for a housing renovation loan that my ex-husband told me to take. Subsequently, other financial companies like Hong Leong Bank, which I guaranteed for my ex-husband’s vehicle, joined the fiasco. I am genuinely unable to repay the debts. That’s why I am called a bankrupt. All I am asking for now is another chance in life to fulfil my role as a mother to my daughter, by giving her a shelter. But I’m unable to even obtain a HDB loan, much less from a bank. I am also in my 40s. I find it difficult to land myself a good job with all the foreign competition and bankruptcy. Hence, I’m willing to do anything except vice! So I took up this hawker job just to make ends meet without hesitation. I beseech your organisation if you can do anything at all to assist in my situation. I will be really grateful. I have no one else to turn to. My ex-husband doesn’t want to pay maintenance for our child but is still able to travel freely (despite being a bankrupt) while I can’t even go JB. You tell me, is there justice? There was a suggestion for me to see MP. I did but what can Tin Pei Ling do? Will her party listen to her? Just come and see for yourself the impact of rejection Macphersonians have received from her ‘representation’. Lastly, there is speculated interest in my bankruptcy bank account. It is POSB: 193-40XXX-X Regards Ms Tan Li Yin - See more at: transitioning.org/2014/06/03/single-mum-who-attempted-suicide-over-housing-issue-called-by-hdb-for-june-bto-exercise/#sthash.UWyMLRYg.dpuf
