Dear NAACP Members and Friends, The NAACP Salina Unit 4041 is the host for the annual state conference of branches. This is the 70th Anniversary of the conference in the state of Kansas and it will take place here in Salina. The site for all conference activities this year is the Webster Conference Center, located at 2601 N. Ohio. The conference dates are Friday October 18 and Saturday October 19. There are two events you might be interested in attending during the conference. On Friday night beginning at 6 pm we will have the Soul Food Dinner and the display of history from all the NAACP units in Kansas. The cost to attend the dinner is $15 per person in advance and $20 at the door. The second event and the most important is the Freedom Fund Banquet that will be held on Saturday October 19. Beginning at 6pm there will be as Gospel Music Extravaganza led by Ms. Ramona Newsom. The dinner and speaker for the evening will follow at approximately 7:30 pm. The cost for this event is $40 per person and there are limited tickets available at the door. We will also take this opportunity to update our membership files. Please check the due date of your membership and provide us with an email address. There will be someone available both nights for membership updates. Your local NAACP is only as strong as the members.
