Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students: The new school year is off & running and the holidays are fast-approaching, even though these days can be exciting, full of activities with smiles and lots happening, they are not for all, somewhere there are those that may be lonely, depressed, bummed, discouraged, feeling lost or left out, and down. The sad thing is many times we are not aware a person is feeling this way, it may be only on the inside that they feel this way, on the outside they may seem just fine and seem OK. Keep track of your loved ones, your friends, neighbors, students, watch for signals of despair (the signals may be ever so subtle). It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle - bustle of the days, that time slips away and we lose track of keeping in touch. Write the card, send the note, make the call, stop by, knock on the door (even the doors in your own home of the quiet rooms), shake the hand, give the hug, smile warmly, ask questions, tell them you care, drop something off for them, tell them you will help (and then actually be sure to help), tell them you’ll be there for them, and pray for them. Pray that God will protect all of these (and you, friend, that are reading this) by placing His tent around them to shelter them from all that may harm, wherever they may be, wherever they may be traveling to or from, at all times, every single day of the year. You may save a life. Amen.
