Dear Participants , Please read through this mail regarding Putrajaya Deuter Trail Run 2014 1. RACEKIT COLLECTION: Date: 4th May 2014 (Sunday) Time: 10am – 6pm Venue: Putrajaya Challenge Park (Skate Park). Our counters will be divided based on alphabetical orders of your registered names. Please be aware of your registered names since some of the registered names are not according to ICs. Do bring along the confirmation email or your IC for verification. 2. COURSE OVERVIEW - Total course is approximately 10km divided into outer loop and inner loop. - 80% of the distance will be on trail and the remaining 20% will be on tarmac. - Participants need to go through the Outer Loop, followed by the Inner Loop. - Both loops will be challenging with undulating terrain. Save your energy because it gets tougher as you enter the Inner Loop. - The first obstacle will be the giant slide which will be located on a hill slope, separating the outer and the inner loop - The second obstacle will be the steep hill climb at KM6. There will be a water station at the peak of the climb. - There are another 3 obstacles at the final KM. For the last obstacle, you need to go through man made ponds (about 0.5 - 1m deep) - The finishing lanes will be divided into categories, so please be aware of this. 3. PREPARATION - You must be physically and mentally prepared for this challenge. - 10km trail run IS NOT THE SAME as 10km road run. You might be able to run all the way for your 10km road, but dont expect the same when it comes to this event. - Hydrate yourselves. Event though we have water stations, but it is advisable for you to bring your own hydration for emergency cases. - Wear proper shoes with good traction. Trails will involve technical ascent and descent, and having a good traction is very important to avoid injuries. Trails will be extra slippery especially when it rains. - Wear proper attire. There will be obstacles that require you to slide, jump and crawl. You will get dirty. - We would recommend if you can wear the event shirt during the race day (Not compulsory) - Bib number must be worn at the front side. Failing to do so, you will not be allowed to start. 4. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS - If you are not feeling well on that day, please do not participate. It will bring more harm than good. - There will be two ambulances on standby for emergency cases. One will be stationed at the start/finish line and the other one will be at KM6. - Some sections of the trails are not accessible by motorized vehicles and any rescue attempt will take time for these sections. - If you encounter any problem or difficulties, please inform the nearest marshals. - Proper attire and shoes will help to minimize the risk. - Some sections of the trails are narrow. Due to the number of participants, we are expecting some bottlenecks. Slower runners please give way to the faster runners and be considerate. Do not overtake at dangerous sections. - Do not attempt to take shortcuts. Not only it will disrupt he flow, but it will also be dangerous. - If you happen to know anyone who plans to enter this race without bib, please advise them not to do so. We have large number of runners and we are trying to minimize the congestion. - Do not bring any electronic gadgets unless you are very confident that it has a very good water proofing. - Please follow the instructions given by the marshals on duty. 5. EVENT DAY (11th May 2014) - Please come early at the event site. - Parking spaces are available but to avoid congestion, we would highly recommend you to car pool with your friends. - Some sections of the road will be closed from traffic. Refer to the attachment file. - Baggage room will be made available. Keep your items properly in a proper bag; we do not accept loose items for storage. - Flag off will consist of 2 waves. First flag off at 730am is for the Men category only. The second flag off is for other categories which is at 740am. - After the race, please check your numbers at the lucky draw counter. We will display your number at a whiteboard for the lucky draw winners.
