Dear Sombath, When addressing your case at the UPR session yesterday, the Lao government made another brilliant demonstration of its 4-D strategy: • Deny: no involvement - despite the fact that your abduction happened at police post; • Delay: investigation still on-going - despite no result shared for last 18 months; • Discredit: you were traveling abroad and receiving money from foreign sources – just as your government does! • Disregard: no answer given to the 14 countries expressly asking about your case and to the 18 requests for serious investigations on disappearance cases in Laos. Dear Sombath, your government’s response did not convince and stronger language is being used by an increasing number of countries. These are clear indications that your case will not be forgotten.
