Dear Students of Multimedia University , We understand that most of you are confused by the way and method the Management has implemented the Resources Fee. Students who are still not clear of the Implementation of this Fee upon thoroughly reading the explanation below , may visit the Finance Division or the SRC Office for further clarification . For the clarification of all students , the details of the imposed resource fee is as below : 1) June intake students are being charged RM 800 resources fee + RM 200 IT and Library fee until the May 2015 2) October intake students are being charged RM 267 of Resources Fee + RM 200 Library and IT fee of until September 2014. 3) March intake students are being charged RM 600 Resources Fee + RM 200 Library and IT fee until February 2015. The sum of RM 1000 will include ( Resource Fee = 800 + Library and It Fee = RM 200). Students are being charged from the date of the Implementation of the policy since the month of June until the Following Academic Year which will be based on their Intake. For an instance the October intake students are charged RM 267 until their following academic year based on the Number of Months Left from June 2014 until their Following Academic Year which will be on October 2014. The calculations are based on RM 800/12 months X (number of months since June 2014 until the following academic year ) Example : October intake : RM 800/12 X 4 months :(June,July,August,September) = RM 267 ( single payment : JUNE 2014) March Intake : RM 800/12 X 9 months (June,July,August,September,October,November,December, January,February) = RM 600 ( two payments of RM 300 each : JUNE 2014, October 2014) June Intake : RM 800 ( applies for one whole academic year ) ( two payments of RM 400 each : June 2014 , October 2014) Following this payments, students will be charged RM 1000 Resources Fee instead of RM 800 ( Replacing the library and IT Fee) per academic year, based on the intake of the particular student which applies as follows: October 2014-October 2015 - RM 1000 June 2015-June 2016 - RM 1000 March 2015-March 2016 - RM 1000 This is the method of application of the Resource Fee till date used by the Management. The Students Representative Council would like to emphasize that we still DO NOT agree with this Implementation and will continue to strive towards Objecting this Policy. However, the final outcome is yet to be concluded as the Management has agreed to review the petitions and feedback from the students before making the Final Decision on this matter. Meanwhile, we humbly request for students to be patient while the management undergoes further discussions with the SRC and the student representatives.
