Dear Symbians and friends, Symbiosis Law School, Symbiosis Law School, Noida has organized a “Teaching Session on Taxation Law” by Ms. Kavita Jha, Advocate on Record, Supreme Court of India. The lecture series aims at providing pragmatic approach to think, deliberate and analyze the core issues and contemporary issues surrounding Tax and related Laws including: Why are provisions relating to tax contained in the Constitution? - Historical evolution; Legitimate popular sanction; Tax in money and in kind; Tax as an instrument of social and economic control: Limitations on the power of the Constitution; Part III of the Constitution, Writ Jurisdiction and Article 265: Federal Base; Distribution of taxing powers between Centre and State – I Federal Base: Distribution of taxing powers between Centre and State- II: Interstate Trade and Commerce; International Tax and Constitution & Miscellaneous topics. The first lecture in the series will take place today, Saturday, October 05, 2013 at 10:15am-11: 45am in Moot Court Hall, Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA.
