Dear Unifi, I just called your Hotline to enquire about downgrading to a lower package AFTER THE END of my current 2-year contract in Oct 2013. They had informed me that based on your T&C, even though my contract has ended, I will still be penalized RM200 if I wish to downgrade to a lower plan. If not, you will automatically renew my contract for an additional 2 years based on the current plan. Firstly I think to impose a penalty for changing packages after the end of a contractual period is unethical. They also proceeded to advise me that the only option open to me is to TERMINATE my subscription to Unifi after the end of my contract, in which case no penalty will be incurred. I find it very interesting that Unifi prefers to lose a customer who wishes to continue enjoying your services, than to allow him to extend his contract but on a lower plan. I sincerely hope someone highlights this serious flaw in your service terms and customer retention strategy to the management.
