Ive been a huge fan of yours since i was 17 and next week Ill be 25... i love the responses you have for your girls... so walking into lady hood i have no kids no man no car no apartment... i live with my mother and all 5 of my younger siblings i work at the high school as the lunch lady and i get off and watch my siblings from 3pm to 2am... i only work from 7am to 1pm so its fine... my 2 younger brothers 23 and 21 have kids... my other brother only 1 and my littler sister will be 4... i love my family with a passion and id do anything for them... i just fear with me so wrapped in my family life ill never find a guy for me... Ive dated here and there but every guy tells me Im my mothers man... i cook clean and watch her kids so im her man... thats not true she has my step dad... but i cant help but wonder are they right?? Am i giving to much of myself to my family?? MY RESPONSE: It does sound like you are taking on too much responsibility for your family. Your mother is married and she and your stepfather apparently decided to start over together by having kids who are now 4 and 1. That is not your issue. You need to, at 25, start making your way in life. Look for a second, full-time job and save up to get your own place. Working fro 7 am-1 pm and babysitting from 3 pm-2 am does seriously limit your ability to have any kind of social life. As long as you live there, they will expect you to do what you are doing. It is time for you to leave the nest. Make it happen.
