Dear Zane, Im a Long time fan of yours please keep me anonymous. ... help me please . I was on fb and saw 2 children being abused. The mother is piercing there nose and ears twice at 6 months . She has now graduated to the belly button on a 4 year old and a 7 year old. I called the police department and they didnt even sound concerned. Im from Canada and thats child abuse . You would get ur kids taken away and youd be in jail. Please help me help these kids. Is this legal in Ohio? ?? Her name is _________ Im going to send you evidence. MY RESPONSE: While not an expert, I did a quick search on Ohio laws and, as I suspected, as long as a parent or legal guardian signs a consent, I do not believe that it is illegal. I personally do not understand why someone would do that to their kids but if the police did not act upon it, it is probably not illegal. Ear piercings in infancy are common and most of the time the actual pediatrician does them. It is good that you are looking out for them but I am not sure she is legally doing anything wrong.
