Dear diary: This was a good one. Today in class, professor stated you will all rank your classmates and their presentations and the best ones will get As, then there will be another tier, and then another. Student: So youre arbitrarily having everyone rank their peers and only a quota can get a good grade? Student 2: So basically no matter what we do, some will get a good grade and everyone else sucks doing the same project. Professor: Well, its relative fitness. Background info: One four credit class out of MANY, taking place in a major that is relatively unemployable without further certifications. Committees granting those certifications judge your acceptance based on your academic performance at the undergraduate level now being reflected through competition rather than competency..........this isnt even law or medical school level. The broken U.S. higher education system......creating competitors rather than collaborators one abused class at a time.
