Dear fellow 772 MPs, I will be joining with thousands of people nationwide this fall to walk in the American Foundation for Suicide Preventions (AFSP) Out of the Darkness Community Walk. I would appreciate any support that you give me for this worthwhile cause. According to the VA an average of 22 veterans are lost to suicide every day. Recent statistics have shown a 44% increase in suicide rates amongst male veterans under 30 years of age. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, advocacy, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 39,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSPs mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
