Dear friends, I have this thought of how since the second sacrifice of the Christ and the angel who bears him aloft in this earthly heavenly return in full from the Fall we are or can be called to consider the birth in the etheric world, birth out of our own forces when in the earthly body and also what it means to bring one’s own body together before birth: to be co creators in the new capacities as wrought forth by the Nathan Soul and Christ, Michael and Rudolf Steiner. Ita Wegman shares a consideration I would like to put together with what too is living with me a bit in this time of Advent and truly all year long as to this consideration of awakening and entering, unfolding into the spirit land. O Man, Thou mouldest it to thy service, Thou revealest it according to the value of its substance In many of thy works. Yet it will only bring thee healing, When to thee is revealed Its lofty spirit-potency. (RS) Looking at the first week of Advent we can find this consideration of nature and of man’s own physical skeleton form. My pondering brought me to a place to look at how nature’s true form is deeply connected to my own in all its ways. I am upbuilt out of what I see around me in nature. I imagine this can be a crucial point of departure for those who might not recognize this and to see where is the connection between what is out in nature and dying due to neglect and greed and is this also somehow related to the inner nature of man and his own slipping away from a more meaningful purpose filled life past what he can use and abuse for his own good? I think they’re relative to one another in moral imagination and what is dying in the culture and what has to be killed in the culture and what has to be born again anew for the sake of humanity and the earth. ‘The first light of Advent is the light of the stones, That live in the seashells, crystals, and bones.’ (RS) Ita Wegman shares this crucial point for me that is for me this Threshold consideration as to how am I in the world. As a Steiner student I would imagine it important to recognize that we have heard that there has been a second sacrifice of the Christ and the Etheric world now opened for entering into consciously due to Archangel Michael and Rudolf Steiner’s collaboration in service of the Christ and His own return from taking up the Fall wherein now we can hear the call Follow Thou Me! She shares: “… And for individual anthroposophists it is exceedingly important to go out and learn something of the outer world because, so Rudolf Steiner shared, a true knowledge of the outer world makes it possible for human beings also to come to understand the spiritual world in the proper way during the time between death and a new birth. And upon this proper knowledge of the spiritual world will also depend our ability to know our own organism. If we have this knowledge of our own organism then, when we next come down to the physical world and choose a physical body for our incarnation, we shall be able to choose one that is free of from inherited defects, or we shall be so strong in soul and spirit that we shall have the forces in us to overcome the so-called inherited body and to build up those organs with which the soul and spirit can live in harmony.” This imagination of the new birth out of what is now possible due to the second sacrifice and also the deep abiding friendship and service one to the other of Archangel Michael and Rudolf Steiner is what moves me this Second Week of Advent. ‘The second light of Advent is the light of the plants, That reach up to the sun and in the breezes dance’ (RS)’’ Leaning into the form of man becoming…..
