Dear friends, To support the demonstration of the Brazilian community in Brussels tomorrow, the organizers of the event launched an online petition on Avaaz. Unfortunately the system prevents us from translating it into different languages but below you will find a short summary of what we are trying to achieve in our demonstration tomorrow. The protests wave which took place in more than 100 cities in Brazil gathered at least 1 million people on the streets. The demonstrations were initiated to stand against the increase of the public transports fare but they were excessively reprimanded by the police force. After this episode the main demands are currently broader. From the improvement of the basic public services to the end of corruption, the “Vinegar revolution” is a popular phenomenon which is changing the history of the country. The Brazilian community in Belgium expresses its solidarity to the different peaceful demonstrations that are taking place in various cities, not only in Brazil and but also abroad. A demonstration in support to the latest civilian actions is scheduled tomorrow, 26th June, in Brussels at 17h30 at the Embassy of Brazil.
