Dear friends and colleagues, My name is Min Cheng and I am a doctoral candidate in the Ph.D. Counseling Psychology program at Teachers College, Columbia University. I am looking for individuals who would like to participate in my dissertation study on the effects of counseling styles (Eastern vs. Western styles of counseling) on counseling outcomes. Participants will be asked to watch two 5-min videotaped counseling sessions (pre-recorded with paid actors) and rate their impressions on the counselor. In addition, we will collect information on your demographics, cultural values, as well as your perceptions of the counselor’s styles. This online study is voluntary and anonymous and will be completed in one 20-minute session. Upon completion of the study, you can enter into a raffle to win an iPad mini (worth $ 299) if you wish to. The odds of winning the raffle are approximately 1 out of 200.
