Dear friends, as u may know Ollie is in a contest on The Terrier - TopicsExpress

Dear friends, as u may know Ollie is in a contest on The Terrier Club website. Voting takes place at terrierclub/poll/bos.php Ollie is now lagging behind by nearly 100 votes. 31 Jan is the last day for voting. Make sure your vote is counted properly sometimes the website does not register your vote. What you may not be aware is the background of us entering Ollies photo in the contest. When Ollie was 6mo, she nearly died from craniomandibular oesteopathy (CMO aka westie jaw) induced pneumonia. She was in critical condition and stayed in the hospital for a week. This is a hereditary disease that cause her jaw bones to swell up so bad she cant eat or drink. This disease often occurs in puppyhood - most westie puppies survive. There are some who dont. In the ensuing months after the first eruption of Ollies illness, her mouth would swell up every two/ three days. She doesnt have interest to eat or drink, much less play. Ollie loves to go to the park but after each trip, she would be so exhausted just after barely an hour, she would sleep for the rest of the day. And almost certainly, her CMO will surface the next day. Sometimes for that reason, we try to limit her physical activities. While her peers are busy enjoying life, Ollies fighting her illness with a valiance that only we are aware of. We frequently had to bring her to the vet and give her supplements to boost her immune system. In July last yr, she had a relapse. For every relapse, we always hoped it would be THE LAST. When a month passed and nothing happened, we held our breath. When 2 mths passed, we kept quiet about her condition because we were afraid to jinx it. Well, we are relieved to say now that Ollie has fully recovered now. Not much of after effects, thank goodness. And finally shes able to enjoy playing like any normal pup. Wed rather see her chewing things up and having fun than have her moping around in pain (altho behavioural training is on the plate for her). I submitted Ollies photo months ago and it was a pleasant surprise to have it entered the contest at the beginning of a new year. Superstitions or not, like what a friend said, we only wanted to use this opportunity to celeberate her one year birthday and reaching a milestone in Ollie having successfully coping with her illness and to celebrate the Lunar New Year which is happening right now. Each vote for Ollie will be taken as a blessing for a long and healthy life for her. Thats why your votes count. The contest is just a game, no prizes to be won. Just to share some fun and to celebrate life and friends, the latter without which makes life meaningless. Your votes for Ollie count. Vote for Ollie NOW at terrierclub/poll/bos.php We are lagging behind by nearly 100 votes. Only 24 hours left. Your votes, support and friendship mean loads to us. Hear what Ollie has to say. Thank you!
