Dearest Prayer Partners: My mom was diagnosed with Merkel Cell Carcinoma today after having a biopsy on some lymph nodes last week. We were hoping/praying for a different kind of result. It is a very aggressive rare form of skin cancer w/only about 1500 cases a year in the US compared to about 60,000 cases of melanoma. There are still a round of tests, blood work, EKG, and the pet scan to see if they can determine a point of origination. Surgery will be performed in the next couple weeks to remove those lymph nodes and perhaps anywhere else they find the cancer if possible. For you cancer survivors, you know what she is going through. For family and friends who have loved ones who have gone or going through this, you know what we as a family are going through. We all would appreciate your prayers for Gods Divine mercy and healing.
