December 18, 2014: Good morning. Some light wintry precipitation - TopicsExpress

December 18, 2014: Good morning. Some light wintry precipitation continues this morning, but the bulk of it has moved out of the area. Temperatures are in the lower 30s. There could be a few slick spots on bridges. The coldest temperatures are over southern Illinois. A few spots have dipped down into the upper 20s. Those areas would be more likely to have a few slick spots. Either way, our light wintry precipitation event is winding down. No significant accumulation of snow or ice occurred overnight. Our next weather maker will also be a light one. That one arrives on Friday night and Saturday. Perhaps some light snow flurries or a snow shower. Right now this does not look like a big deal, either. The week of Christmas will bring unsettled weather with some rain possible on Monday night. Colder air filters in by the middle and end of Christmas week. We will have to wait and see if that will bring some flurries or light precipitation, as well. Right now the odds of a white Christmas appear slim. But, there is at least some chance of flurries. This would be in response to a broad northwest flow. I will continue to monitor.
