Deep Green Resistance is not just a FB page, and not just a book. We are an international social-justice environmental organization working to build a culture of resistance that can defend the living planet and its oppressed and marginalized people and non-human species. Our goal is to disrupt and dismantle industrial civilization while repairing the biotic and human communities that civilization has destroyed. This is a vast endeavor and it will require many different organizations, mostly working aboveground and nonviolently. But DGR recognizes that industrial civilization must be stopped; that we don’t have the mass movement needed for nonviolent direct action to be effective; and that we are out of time. We advocate for a serious, well-trained underground organization that can bring down the industrial economy by attacking key nodes of infrastructure. Our Advisory Board is composed of Saba Malik, Derrick Jensen, and Lierre Keith. Our Steering Committee is composed of four DGR members who work closely with the Advisory Board to guide DGR into the future, and both are majority female. There are also administrative roles filled by over a dozen other members who keep basic operations going.
