Woolies has nowhere near as many issues as Coles (and Im no fan of Woolies!) but Coles have to be consciously out to con their customers, rip off their suppliers and destroy animal rights - theres just way too many incidents. Heres a brief rundown: * Leading the campaign to change the definition of free range from 1500 hens to 10,000 hens per hectare. * Baked fresh baked daily - received a fine for actually having the bread baked in Ireland 6 months earlier. * Hanging Helping Australia Grow signs over imported fruit and veg. * Now this, leaving fruit in some preservative gas and selling it as fresh. How unconscionable is their defence - “Coles considers apples can remain fresh, even if placed in cold storage. ‘Freshness’ is determined with regard to the quality of the produce, not whether it has been stored or not.” This is a DELIBERATELY unethical company. Dont shop there....
