General Statements For Personal Issues Pt. 2 Denial - failure to acknowledge an unacceptable truth or emotion or to admit it into consciousness, used as a defense mechanism. Denial is a mental defense mechanism that people use to fight their own reality. When it comes to reality, some people just dont want to face it. This is how a preacher can be teaching on waking up and people still fall asleep. Denial is also the ability to put things away mentally. Some want to forget but people that use denial never want to remember. Thats why when you do everything you can to show someone their reality, they just dont get it. This is why the first step to recovery or deliverance is to just to admit that an issue exist. God deals with us daily about our reality whether its faith, true friendship, our calling, gifts, talents, fasting, studying the word, praying and tithing but we act as if these things dont exist. However when its manifestation time no denial necessary We are full aware of it. Denial fights your faith because if you deny it you dont believe that is and maybe thats why some treat God the way they do. We deny love, true feelings, abuse, marriage, children, ministry, that we hurt others and the list just keeps going. So today lets be bold enough to forgive, say Im sorry I hurt you, I missed you, lets try it again, I dont know what I was thinking, its my fault, yes this is my child, yes we would love to have you eat with us, I have a drinking problem, I have a drug addiction, he beats me and I want out, pastor can we talk, I love yall but I have to leave this church, from now on Im a tither, I will no longer preach my feelings, God I no longer blame you, I could be a better parent, I could be a better son or daughter, Im mad at the people that really love me, my life fell apart because I allowed and etc........
