Deservedly, Hope the heroine kitty has been receiving a great deal of media attention. But did you know that just about every day, a kitten comes into the Chester County SPCA in need of urgent care? Stray cats are in constant danger of getting hit by cars, getting attacked by other animals, and are exposed to diseases. Today, someone brought in a 10-week-old kitten who was at deaths door. She was weak and unresponsive, severely dehydrated, her temperature was down to 96 degrees (a normal temperature should be between 99 and 101) and she had maggots all over her. Our Medical Director immediately administered IV fluids and she began to perk up. Within an hour, she was trying to drink and eat on her own. Her name is now Gracie and without the Chester County SPCA, this little gal would not have made it. Please encourage spay and neuter to help reduce the number of strays cats. Thank you for helping us help the animals!
