Despite rumors to the contrary, I am still a Sergeant First Class, and I have not been relieved as a platoon sergeant. To set matters straight, I did get removed as construction site supervisor of my project at Ft. Dix for having the audacity to allow my soldiers to fall asleep during a safety stand-down due to a violent thunderstorm. But other than an ass-chewing from the Lieutenant Colonel who caught them, nothing further was said about it. The company commander even phrased moving me to the other job site (and consequently out of a supervisory role) as an opportunity for me to get experience on a different type and scale of project (since I am still new to vertical construction). Thanks to those who bothered to address me directly.
