Despite scoring 32 points and grabbing 21 rebounds in San Miguel Beer’s last game, the team decided to go ahead and replace import Josh Boone for the PLDT Home TVolution Commissioner’s Cup. San Miguel Beer coach Biboy Ravanes disclosed the development to InterAksyon on Monday. “We would like to thank Josh for his effort and professionalism. He showed a lot of heart while wearing a Beerman uniform. We look forward to enjoying Josh’s future success as he will always be a member of the Beermen family,” Ravanes said. With Boone on the squad, the Beermen have rolled to two straight wins in the conference despite the absence of star center June Mar Fajardo. San Miguel Beer will now be reinforced by NBA D-League standout Kevin Jones, who was reported to be flying in to replace Boone before the Beermen played their first game. Ravanes said that Jones joined some coaches for shootaround on Monday and will practice with the team on Tuesday.
