Despite the fact that they do hail from my hometown of Champaign, IL, Ive never been a big REO fan. The only time I ever really *did* like them was back in the early-mid 70s, when they were an actual hard-rockin R n R band, not the wimpy power-pop outfit they turned into in the early 80s. They did some pretty great stuff back then, I must admit, and even some stuff with socially conscious lyrics, like Golden Country. This is probably their biggest hit from back in those early days, and for obvious reasons I dedicate this to my friends in the NE part of the country, since it sounds like theyll have to be doing a bit of this very shortly....
