Diane Parrish writes on Job Chapter 10 I don’t know about you, - TopicsExpress

Diane Parrish writes on Job Chapter 10 I don’t know about you, but I don’t have a clue what God is thinking the grand majority of the time. So, because I don’t know what He is thinking the grand majority of the time, then I conclude what I “think” He is thinking, with limited my understanding; with limited my resources (ok, I know we have the Bible); and with a lack of prejudice. And so, because I am human and usually determine that God is not listening or not pleased with me or, even sometimes, I conclude that God is angry with me (when I don’t get my way)… let me ask you this: When was the last time you got angry with God? Perhaps you didn’t get the answer to the prayer you sent Him? Perhaps you didn’t get the job you wanted, or you were let go from your job; perhaps you concluded that God had turned a deaf ear ward you – whatever the reason, you determined that God was angry with you – so you get angry with God. WOW, what a vicious cycle; a cycle that doesn’t go anywhere. So, I ask you – when was the last time you got angry with God? Clearly here, Job was angry with God. His words of disdain towards God on how “his perception of how God was acting towards him,” dripped with anger and sarcasm. God could have smashed Job like a gnat – but He didn’t. Instead, God listened and allowed Job to vent. Validity of Job’s action or lack of validity was not of issue here – instead… Well remember what we read back in the first chapter? God said, “Do you see my boy Job? There is no one like him.” God’s opinion did not change. When we have a “human” moment because of life’s situations, God doesn’t bail on us. He continues to listen.
