Did You Know This? There may be no Election in Nigeria next year. I just read that in the constitution that if a part of the country is at war, The President can write the Senate for an extension of office for another year until the war is over. Section 135 (3) states: If the Federation is at war in which the territory of Nigeria is physically involved and the President considers that it is not practicable to hold elections, the National Assembly may by resolution extend the period of four years mentioned in subsection (2) of this section from time to time; but no such extension shall exceed a period of six months at any one time. some of us are ignorant of this and believes it is not possible for a President to extend his stay in office beyond the stipulated 4 years. We are currently battling with the terrorist Boko Haram in about 5 states in the North, Dont be surprised if there is no election in Nigeria Next year. Our Constitution supports it.
