Did anyone else hear that interesting report on autism on NPR - TopicsExpress

Did anyone else hear that interesting report on autism on NPR yesterday? The new thinking is that autism starts in the brain in the second trimester of pregnancy, when certain normal developments dont progress. In the future, they hope to develop treatment to boost brain development very early in life, very near birth, if not sooner. This would tend to dispute the theory that autism is being caused by vaccinations. I want to learn more. Big questions about why autism and Alzheimers seem to be on the rise. What it tampering with our brain health? Are the two related, in any way, as in environmental causes, etc.? When I think about our Big Agri-Biz food supply, from GMOs to pesticides to fertilizers to growth hormones to antibiotics, I dont know how well ever improve things unless we turn away from food production on a factory scale. At 61 and a suburban dweller with a lot on my plate, Im unlikely to start farming. But Im giving some thought to buying into a local organic farm. Have any of you done this? I cant remember what the process is called...
