Did you ever start what seemed like a reasonable and rewarding project, only to find that for some reason it was apparently doomed from the start?? Friends of mine have this really neat combination keypad to open their garage door - I liked it so well that I ordered one online and yesterday a friend and I tried to install it. After an hour of following the steps in the directions and having the keypad do NOTHING when one entered the magic code and pressed Enter, we decided that the garage door opener and the new keypad apparently were not compatible. Imagine my glee when I went to leave the house at 0600 this morning to swim laps and found that the remote openers I keep in the car and the truck no longer work and now the only way to open and close the garage door is from the control inside the garage. Changing the batteries in the remote controllers didnt solve the problem. Apparently we did program something but sure not what wed planned.. sigh..
