Did you help Obama into office and to stay there? Are you going to help him keep the senate and, thereby, avoid any hope of true transparency? I just had an inane conversation with someone who, for the most part, would seem to stand on the same side of the street as I do politically speaking. He is trying to convince people to vote for people who, I assume, are libertarian candidates when there is only just one more week to the election. His candidates don’t stand a chance of winning but, he still thinks we should vote for them. In the following paragraphs, I will copy and paste our replies: Him: Conservatism is dying because evil and confused people use scare tactics to keep people from coming together and voting as one for the best and non crooked candidate by saying things like if you vote for so and so you vote for their opponent. For example saying if you vote for Chad Grimm or Mark Smith (the ONLY great candidates) instead of Rauner (the evil democrat pretending to be republican) youre helping the tyrant Quinn (who is no different then Rauner) win. Him: Rand Paul is a crooked tyrant fooling the people into loving him. Even his own father doesnt trust him. For example he did a *highly* publicized filibuster against drone use on Americans THEN went behind the curtain *out of public view* and voted in favor of their use against us!! Me: There is zero logic to your contention, Christopher Riech. Those candidates donet stand a chance of winning but, by taking votes away from a conservative who does, even if hes not the best choice, they increase the odds of the Demorat winning another term. Thats not scare tactics - its a fact. Conservatives are known as those who apply logic and reason. Logic and reason mean that, unless we have a viable third-party candidate, the argument should end after the primary. Him: vote for evil or evil will get in < thats the lack of logic you displayed. And thank you for setting a very fine example of the twisted threats you people make to keep people from coming together and voting for the best candidate as i was pointing out Richard Roston. You are the reason no good candidate will ever get in. If people like you didnt exist, then everyone wouldnt be scared to vote for the only good candidates and then the good candidates WOULD have a chance How does it feel to be responsible for the tyranny we have long suffered in our country! Me: No, Christopher Riech. Im sick of hearing this Im-not-going-to-chose-the-lesser-of-two-evils crap. Im not the reason no good candidate will ever get in. You are. You didnt do due diligence earlier and now you want me to throw my vote away for a candidate who doesnt stand a chance. It goes like this, build momentum early. The only other way your candidates will get elected, even if every single person who reads you post is convinced and votes the way you demand, is if the two leading candidates drop out or die. Its an uncomfortable reality you refuse to accept. In other words, would I be willing to support the candidates youve put forth? YES, but not now, not with the election hanging in the balance and just over two weeks to go. I tell you what, show me how youre going to bring one of your candidates into the heat of the race, not as a spoiler, but with an actual chance to win, and youve got me. If you cant do it, then why dont you quit stirring up trouble for the sake of trouble and get in the game. Its not choosing the lesser of two evils, its making sure we dont choose the greater of two evils, if thats they way you choose to look at it. No, Im not the problem. But, people who vote the way you do share a lot more blame for Barack Obama in the White House than I do. Him: You know what, people like you that are paid to spread bullshit propaganda to keep the masses from voting for the good candidates should be drug out into the streets and beaten publicly Richard Roston! Me: So, let me get this straight, Christopher Riech, first of all, youve committed an act of libel, as I am definitely NOT paid. Second of all, it appears youre attempting to convince people to commit bodily harm to another person. Third, instead of attempting a logical response youve turned to false accusations and threats. I can only assume you have no logical response, which is not surprising. In fact, considering what is at stake, I think its far more likely that youre a paid operative. Im not saying you are but, if someone were to dissect our conversation, and consider the matter logically, they would quickly deduce that your position absolutely falls short of a reasoned position. But lets put that aside for a second, I actually gave you a proposal. Ill even forgive and forget the nonsense you spewed in your last reply if you can follow through on my proposal or if youre willing to admit the fallacy of your position. Do something to make one of the people youve prosposed into a viable candidate - a candidate with a legitimate chance of beating Dick Durbin, and Ill consider your position. Now, we both know you cant do that. Had you, or anyone else, been able to do that, youd have done it long before now. So, I can throw my vote away with you and other principled voters or I can make the best possible vote for America today. See, actually, I think this election has less to do with the candidates who have their names on the ballot than it does with who will control the senate after that decision is made November 4. Thats because Ive looked at the situation clearly, logically and, if emotionally, I havent allowed my emotions to cloud my judgement. I suggest you do the same. But, either way, youve chosen to act like an asshole to reply that way. You dont have to continue in that vein. You have a choice. Unfortunately, I dont see a lot of evidence to suggest youll make the reasonable choice there either.
