Did you know a woman getting trapped between two train carriages - TopicsExpress

Did you know a woman getting trapped between two train carriages in 1917 paved the way for Albury’s first ambulance station? Locals freed her, carrying her to hospital using a door as a makeshift stretcher, but sadly she did not survive. In her memory, the community raised funds for its first ambulance. Years later, the same community built its first ambulance station, costing just 2615 pounds. We’ve come a long way since then! This week NSW Ambulance opened a brand new state-of-the-art $4m station for the Albury region, where that woman’s granddaughter, now in her 90s, still lives today!
