Did you know that if a cattery was built in say 1990 etc then they only have to meet licensing conditions of that year!! Over the past few years licensing conditions of catteries have improved dramatically and were happy to say that not only does our cattery meet the new licensing conditions we also exceed them! There are still catteries throughout the UK and many here in Merseyside that have communal or shared exercise areas, meaning that cats will individually be let out of their small pen into a corridor type area for a few minutes each day for their exercise then put back into their pen. then the next cat is let out etc......please avoid it like the plague – this is a potential virus-sharing scenario. here are some tips from the international cat care (formerly known as feline advisory bureau) on how to choose a good cattery.
