No woman exemplified this more soundly than did Susanna Wesley. As the mother of John and Charles Wesley, she showed herself to be a person of extremely varied talents and spiritual sensibility. She undertook the education of each of her children with great zeal, even to the point of writing textbooks for home use. Her life and instruction, both in the home and the parish, have proved to be the strong foundation for Methodism since the 17th century. Susanna Wesley’s spiritual principles would first shake England and then the world! Susanna Wesley is portrayed by the Rev. Jessica Moffatt Seay. Rev. Seay studied Theater Arts and Music at Southern Methodist University and at the University of Tulsa. She earned her Masters of Divinity degree at Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. While living in Atlanta, she sang with the Atlanta Opera Company. Rev. Seay is an ordained United Methodist minister serving as the senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in Ardmore, OK.
