Dina Amiri Al Mawred Al Thaqafy announces the closure of all its activities in Egypt Cairo, 3 November 2014 Al Mawred Al Thaqafy announces the closure of all its activities in Egypt at the present time, and as of Sunday 9 November 2014. The organization will continue with its regional programs outside Egypt in cooperation with its coordinators in the different Arab countries. Since its establishment in 2004, Al Mawred Al Thaqafy supported the independent cultural sector in the Arab region through its diverse programs. The organization will continue to play this role on the regional level with the aims of encouraging young Arab artists and writers, supporting their artistic freedoms and helping them promote their work within the region. The organization will also continue its programs in cultural policy monitoring and development, increasing access to culture within marginalized communities, advocating cultural and artistic rights, and training cultural managers and leaders. Al Mawred Al Thaqafy would like to thank all who contributed to the success of its programs in Egypt over the past 10 years, and hopes that the conditions will change to allow resuming its activities in Egypt as soon as possible.
