Disagreeing with someone is NOT beef. Im weary to call the quickness at which we, Black women, are ready to call two different opinions a beef because I live in a hyperbole where 80% of my online interaction is amongst Black women. But I do partly believe this is symptomatic of the double standards placed on women. As a big fan of the late Christopher Hitchens, albeit I very often disagreed with him, I appreciated his writing and debating style. Hitchens had the ability (and opportunity) to have a respectful & productive debate on wildly controversial topics where folks are often easily offended. And he was respected for it. This is what I admire and wish that the industries Im involved in, would allow for the opportunity to have deeper conversations addressing real topics that cause people to think, rather than force feeding us this shallow idea of we all get along or youre a dissenter. #smartbrowngirl #jouelzy youtu.be/ddsz9XBhrYA
