Disgraceful. We found the birth place of Miami, and the Board empowered to oversee its preservation unanimously called for a moratorium on building over it without further review, was overruled by a City of Miami Commission that relied on a two day mediation between the developer and a group of people that did not contain one Native or African American, so we can have one more multiplex and shopping center downtown. This is our history. It is not a feature to be highlighted in a shopping and restaurant arcade. It is disrespectful of Native Americans and all of us. If this is what it means to exist in a materialistic community we need to change the paradigm. And fight back.
