Do Not Drink Water Advisory to Lihue, Hanamaulu residents LIHUE – The Department of Water (DOW) has announced a “Do Not Drink Water Advisory” to customers in the Lihue area located in neighborhoods of Molokoa, Isenberg, and Hanamaulu. Residents with noticeable brown water are advised to use only bottled water for drinking and cooking until further notice. The DOW is currently working on flushing out the affected waterlines and restoring the Lihue-Hanamaulu water system. The public is asked to assist by flushing their outdoor water hoses until the water appears clear. The DOW and its contractors were working on waterline improvements to Hoomana Road Wednesday. As the line was being turned back on, soil entered the line and was released into the neighboring service areas.
